Theft: Dogs

Question
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what advice he has given to police forces on the policing of dog thefts.
Answer

Where dog thefts emerge as a local crime issue it is for the police, in consultation with their local Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership, to take appropriate action.There is no national strategy to manage dog theft and we have no plans to issue guidance to police forces.
