Roads: Noise

- To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what criteria are used by the Highways Agency in deciding whether to utilise whisper quiet road surface technology on trunk roads as part of a planned maintenance programme; and if he will make a statement.
- Answer

It is current Highways Agency policy to use quieter surfacing materials during all planned maintenance works on the network and when constructing new roads.
