Data Protection: Prosecutions
- Question
- To ask the Minister of State, Ministry of Justice how many requests for prosecutions against data controllers for failure to notify the Information Commissioner of the processing of personal data under the Data Protection Act 1998 have been made to (a) the Information Commissioner and (b) the Director of Public Prosecutions since 30 June 2005.

Neither the Information Commissioner's Office or the Crown Prosecution Service, who deal with prosecutions on behalf of the Director of Public Prosecutions, keep details of requests made for prosecutions against data controllers for non-notification offences under the Data Protection Act 1998.
