- To ask the Secretary of State for Justice how many prisons pay the same wages for participation in education and in work programmes.

This information is not collated centrally however to establish pay rates in prisons a survey was carried out during April/May 2007 and this indicated that 19 establishments pay equal wages for participation in education and work.
