Sports: Databases

Question
To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport what the total cost to public funds was of the Active Places database in each year for which figures are available.
Answer

The initial costs for Active Places for the first three years between 2004 and 2007 was £5.2 million. The budget for the current financial year 2007-08 is £1.1 million which is spent on data maintenance, data acquisition, systems development and hosting.
