- To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what voting arrangements in the Council of Ministers will apply to decisions relating to EU policy on legal migration once the Treaty of Lisbon enters into force.

The voting procedure in the Council of Ministers for EU policy on legal migration will be Qualified Majority Voting.The UK position remains unchanged. We will opt into EU asylum and immigration measures where it is in the national interest to do so and consistent with our policy of retaining frontier controls.
