Burglary

Question
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many crimes involving bogus callers were committed in each London borough in each year since 1997.
Answer

Available recorded crime statistics on the number of distraction burglary offences at Basic Command Unit level, for the London region, are given in the following table.The offence of 'distraction burglary' was added to the series in April 2003. Prior to this, this type of offence would have been recorded under the 'burglary in a dwelling' classification and could not be separately identified.
