- To ask the hon. Member for Gosport, representing the Speaker's Committee on the Electoral Commission how much was paid to Unlock Democracy for its work on the Scottish elections; and what tendering process was used to award the contract for such work.

The Electoral Commission informs me that Unlock Democracy was paid £14,687 for the research which it carried out on the 2007 Scottish elections, and a report of their findings is available on the Commission's website.The Commission used a single tender action, in line with its procurement procedures, to award the contract for this work.
