To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (1) how many adult apprenticeships have been completed since the programme was introduced;

[holding answer 3 March 2008]:I have been asked to reply.The total number of apprenticeship frameworks achieved in England since 2001-02—the year that information was first collected on the Learning and Skills Council's Individualised Learner Record—is 410,000. Data on the breakdowns by age, gender, ethnicity and disability for the last three years is shown in the following table, but information for the other years is not readily available.
