Serious Organised Crime Agency

- To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what recent assessment she has made of the effectiveness of the Serious and Organised Crime Agency.

Home Office Ministers have regular meetings with the chair and the director-general of the Serious Organised Crime Agency.SOCA's achievements in its first year of operation are set out in its annual report for 2006-07 published on 18 May 2007 and placed in the House Library.SOCA also appeared before a Home Affairs Select Committee on 29 January 2008 where it answered a number of questions about its effectiveness.
