Bail: Northern Ireland
- Question
- asked Her Majesty's Government:Further to the Written Answer by Lord Rooker of 19 February (WA 35) concerning bail conditions in Northern Ireland, what is the disproportionate cost of providing data on bail conditions.
- Answer
-
The original Question asked how many people committed offences while on bail in Northern Ireland in each of the past five years. As this data are not recorded centrally, a manual trawl of all crime records would need to be undertaken. This exercise would cost in excess of the current limit of £700 as set by the Cabinet Office.
