Firearms: Licensing Management System
- Question
- asked Her Majesty's Government:Whether an independent audit of the efficiency of the interface between the National Firearms Licensing Management System and the Police National Computer was carried out after it was completed in September 2007; and if so, whether they will place a copy of the audit report in the Library of the House.
- Answer
-
Following successful completion of the implementation of the interface between the National Firearms Licensing Management System (NFLMS) and the Police National Computer (PNC), a review of the efficiency of the interface between the two systems is now being conducted with a view to ensuring that the business benefits are fully realised by the police service. The review is being conducted by the National Policing Improvement Agency (NPIA) and the Association of Chief Police Officers. A summary of the review will be available on the NPIA website (www.npia.police.uk) in due course and, as such, there are no plans to place copies of the review in the Library.
