Railways: Catering

- asked Her Majesty's Government:How they propose to monitor the standards the successful bidder for the east coast main line undertook to maintain regarding catering on the route.

While the successful bidder provided a catering plan as part of its franchise bid, catering is provided at the train operator’s discretion and is not a contractual obligation in the franchise agreement. The Government’s role in the monitoring of the franchise agreement is to ensure that the train operator delivers its contractual commitments.
