National e-Crime Unit: Finance
- Question
- To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether the National e-Crime Unit will be partly funded by the private sector; and if she will make a statement.

[holding answer 31 March 2008]: The Government have received a business case from ACPO regarding the possible creation of a national electronic crime unit. The proposal is based on funding from central Government, the private sector and the European Union. The Government are considering the possible options for tackling this issue, and will be arranging a meeting with a number of law enforcement agencies in the near future.
