Asylum: Iraq

- To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what progress she has made on the plans for a resettlement mission to Syria to discuss the cases of Iraqi former UK interpreters; and if she will make a statement.

The practicalities of a resettlement mission in Syria remain under discussion. In the meantime, the Iraqis who meet the criteria for the Locally Engaged Staff scheme who are currently in Syria are in receipt of financial support and background checking which would be part of the assessment process of resettlement.
