Schools: Uniforms

Question
To ask the Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families how many schools in (a) Ribble Valley, (b) Lancashire and (c) England have school specific uniform.
Answer

[holding answer 22 July 2008]: The Department for Children, Schools and Families does not collect this information. It is for the governing body of each school to decide whether to have a school uniform and set rules relating to appearance.
