- To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs how much (a) his Department and (b) its agencies spent on taxis in the last financial year for which figures are available.

From information held centrally, the core-Department's financial system records a VAT inclusive expenditure on taxis in the financial year 2007-08 of £265,529.71. This figure excludes expenditure with the Government Car and Dispatch Agency (GCDA).
