Fire Services: Long Service Awards

- To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government how many Fire and Rescue Service Long Service and Good Conduct medals were awarded in each of the last 10 years; and if she will make a statement.

For the 10 year period 1 January 1999 to 27 October 2008 14,394 Long Service and Good Conduct medals have been awarded to those eligible.For 2008, to date (27 October 2008), 1,209 medals have been awarded.For the previous nine years, 1999 to 2007 inclusive, the number of medals awarded were:
