Community Policing

Question: To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department which police forces have expressed an interest in taking part in the pilots of the community safety participatory budgets referred to in the Policing Green Paper.

Answer: The Home Office has been working with Communities and Local Government and the Participatory Budgeting Unit to establish a set of criteria for the community safety participatory budgeting pilots. A number of practitioners from police forces, police authorities and local authorities have been assisting this process. The criteria are currently being finalised and the Home Office will shortly invite formal expressions of interest in running pilots.
