Theft: Libraries
- Question
- To ask the Secretary of State for Justice how many people have been imprisoned since 1987 for the theft of books, manuscripts, maps and other materials held in the national collections; and if he will make a statement.

Data held by the Ministry of Justice does not separately classify the offences of theft of books, manuscripts, maps or other materials held in the national collections. Offences of this nature would be charged under the Theft Act 1968 but it is not possible to separately identify document thefts from national collections from other document thefts.
