Dogs: Electric Shock Equipment

- To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs if he will consider the merits of the effects of imposing restrictions on the advertising of electric shock training devices.
- Answer

The Government have no plans at present to restrict or ban the advertising, sale or use of electronic training aids for animals. We are waiting for the results of DEFRA-funded research before making any decision as to whether to restrict or ban the use of such devices.
