Police: Demonstrations

Question
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what her estimate is of the number of police hours spent on policing public protests in the last 12 months; and how much of the policing budget was allocated for such work in 2008-09.
Answer

The Home Office does not hold data on number of police hours spent on policing public protests or a breakdown of police budgets dedicated to such work.
