Intercity Express Programme

- To ask the Secretary of State for Transport pursuant to his statement on 12 February 2009, Official Report, columns 1531-33 on new trains (investment), whether his assessment that the successful bid was substantially compliant with specifications included an assessment of compliance with specifications on train weight.

The bid by Agility Trains, Preferred Bidder for the Intercity Express Programme, was substantially compliant with the specifications set out in the Train Technical Specification.
