Coal Fired Power Stations

- To ask the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change what progress has been made on preparations for a public consultation on a UN framework for coal-fired power stations; and if he will make a statement.

[holding answer 24 March 2009]: The proposals on a new framework for coal-fired power stations will go beyond the proposals in last year's consultation on carbon capture readiness. It is too early to go into further details.
