Monarchy: Succession
- Question
- To ask the Secretary of State for Justice to which Commonwealth governments the Government have indicated a wish to discuss reform of male-preference primogeniture for the line of succession for the Crown; and if he will make a statement.
- Answer

Any changes to the rules of succession would have to be agreed to by all Commonwealth countries of which The Queen is head of state. Discussions have started and are continuing but it would be inappropriate to release details at this stage.
