Carers
- Question
- To ask the Secretary of State for Health pursuant to the oral answer from Baroness Thornton of 13 March 2009, Official Report, House of Lords, column 364, on care services: older adults and disabled people, for what reasons publication of the Social Care Green Paper has been delayed; and if he will make a statement.
- Answer
-
It is widely accepted that the current care and support system will not be able to cope with the growing demands and expectations of those needing care in the future. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for us all to help create a care and support system capable of supporting people well into the 21st century so it is important we get this right. The Green Paper will be published shortly.
