Councillors: Allowances

Question
To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government if he will make it his policy to collate and publish figures for allowances paid to councillors by each local authority.
Answer

Local authorities are required to publish the recommendations of their independent remuneration committee for the level of councillors' allowances, the level of allowances for councillors determined by the authority and the actual amount of allowances claimed by councillors.
