Council Housing: Construction

Question
To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government pursuant to the Prime Minister's statement of 29 June 2009, Official Report, columns 21-24, on Building Britain's Future, when he expects the local authority house building programme to start.
Answer

I expect the first building starts of new homes in the last quarter of 2009.
