- To ask the Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families what the average full-time equivalent gross pay of teachers has been in schools in York in (a) cash and (b) real terms in each year since 1997.

Information on the average salary of teacher is available only for full-time regular qualified teachers in service in local authority maintained schools. The following table provides this information for York local authority in both cash and real terms in each year, March 1997 to 2007, the latest year available.
