Thrombosis: Hospitals

Question
To ask the Secretary of State for Health pursuant to the answer of 1 July 2009, Official Report, column 356W, what progress has been made in his Department's work with the Office for National Statistics to provide the requested information; and if he will make a statement.
Answer

The Office for National Statistics are still working on the data which is by nature quite complex, spanning many different areas. We have received some preliminary data and are continuing to work with them to produce meaningful information on episodes of venous thromboembolism.
