Non-Domestic Rates: Ports

Question
To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government what recent representations he has received on the payment of backdated business rates in ports; and if he will make a statement.

I refer my hon. Friend to the answer given to my hon. Friend the Member for Great Grimsby (Mr. Mitchell) on 16 September 2009, Official Report, columns 2218-19W.Since that date, the Department of Communities and Local Government has received further representations, from a trade association, and from two MPs, on behalf of businesses in Ports.
