National Heritage: Protection

Question
To ask Her Majesty's Government whether they will publish a draft Heritage Protection Bill for pre-legislative scrutiny.
Answer

The draft Heritage Protection Bill was published in April 2008. The Bill was subject to pre-legislative scrutiny by the Culture, Media and Sport (CMS) Select Committee, which published its report on 30 July 2008. This report is available on the Department for Culture, Media and Sport's website at http://www.culture.gov.uk/reference_library/publications/5075.aspx. The Government published their response to the committee's findings in October 2008.
