- Question
- To ask the Secretary of State for Justice what estimate he has made of the cost to the public purse of (a) developing and (b) implementing the new PentiP computer system.
- Answer
-
I have been asked to reply. The PentiP computer system is being delivered by the National Policing Improvement Agency as part of a business continuity project. The full project costs of developing and implementing the PentiP computer system and related business processes across 44 police forces and their associated courts in England and Wales (including British Transport Police) is £17.3 million, which is lower than the £19.3 million original cost estimate. As the development and implementation activities are so inter-linked, it is not possible to separate the costs into (a) development and (b) implementation.
