Question: To ask the Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families what proportion of 16-year-olds did not achieve five GCSEs at grades A* to C in (a) Leeds West constituency, (b) West Yorkshire and (c) England in 2009.

Answer: The proportion of pupils at the end Key Stage 4 that did not achieve five or more GCSEs at grade A*-C or the equivalent in 2009 was:"(a) 47.0 per cent. in maintained schools located in the Leeds West constituency.""(b) 32.0 per cent. in schools maintained by West Yorkshire local authorities of Leeds Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield.""(c) 30.0 per cent. in all schools in England."This answer is derived from the revised Achievement and Attainment tables.
