Question
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department pursuant to the answer of 8 February 2008, Official Report, columns 756-7W, on vetting: compensation, how much the Criminal Records Bureau has paid in financial awards to provide redress for customers for maladministration since 1997.
Answer

The Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) makes financial awards to redress customers for its maladministration in accordance with Treasury policy.The following table shows the number of claims made, the number of those claims which resulted in an award and the amount paid out in each financial year since the Bureau's inception.
