The information my hon. Friend requests is not held centrally. The National Policing Improvement Agency (NPIA) and Cheshire constabulary are conducting a qualitative analysis of recorded crime data and case files in Cheshire. This is in order to determine the value of CCTV to investigations carried out in that particular police force area. This work will be used to assist in further consideration of the criteria that should be applied in other areas of England and Wales by police, local authorities and others in assessing the contribution of CCTV to crime detection, crime reduction and public confidence.
