Business of the House
The business for next week will be as follows: Monday 15 March—General debate on defence in the world. Tuesday 16 March—Opposition Day (6th allotted day). There will be a debate entitled "The Government's Handling of Equitable Life", followed by a debate on access to higher education. Both debates will arise on an Opposition motion. Wednesday 17 March—Second Reading of the Cluster Munitions (Prohibitions) Bill [Lords]. Thursday 18 March—General debate on the Intelligence and Security Committee (annual report). Friday 19 March—The House will not be sitting. The provisional business for the week commencing 22 March will include: Monday 22 March—A motion to approve three statutory instruments relating to Northern Ireland devolution, followed by consideration of Lords amendments to the Child and Poverty Bill. Tuesday 23 March—Consideration in Committee and remaining stages of the Cluster Munitions (Prohibitions) Bill [Lords]. Wednesday 24 March—My right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer will open his Budget statement. Thursday 25 March—Continuation of the Budget debate. Friday 26 March—The House will not be sitting.
