To ask the Minister of State, Department for Business, Innovation and Skills how many applications to vary licences for the provision of regulated entertainment in (a) pubs, (b) restaurants and (c) bars have been made in each year since 2007; and if he will make a statement.

I have been asked to reply.The Department for Culture, Media and Sport does not collate data specifically on applications to vary licences for the provision of regulated entertainment and does not collate data by premises type. This is because the Licensing Act defines activities not premises type.The total number of applications to vary a premises licence in England and Wales is shown in the table.
