Organophosphates

Question
To ask Her Majesty's Government what are the genotoxic effects on humans of exposure to tetrachlorvinphos; and what products containing the chemical are licensed.
Answer

There are no longer any licensed pesticides or veterinary medicinal products in the UK containing the chemical tetrachlorvinphos. Laboratory tests on bacteria and human cells have given evidence that it may present a genotoxic hazard.
