Multiple Occupation: Licensing
- Question
- To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government what recent assessment his Department has made of the views of tenants in houses in multiple occupation on the implementation of legislation governing such properties.
- Answer
-
The Department has not carried out an assessment of the views of tenants in houses in multiple occupation. Local authorities are however required to consult all interested parties, including tenants, on proposals to introduce additional HMO licensing schemes in their area. The local authority must also consider and respond to the views of all affected persons.
