Infrastructure Planning Commission
- Question
- To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government pursuant to the written ministerial statement of 29 June 2010, Official Report, columns 35-6WS, on planning reform, what estimate he has made of the cost of abolishing the Infrastructure Planning Commission.
- Answer

We expect the abolition of the Infrastructure Planning Commission to save taxpayers' money as the IPC has not had time to build up significant liabilities. I have asked the chief executive of the IPC and the Planning Inspectorate to work together to ensure that these savings are realised.
