Human Rights
- Question
- To ask the Secretary of State for Justice (1) whether the Commission on a British Bill of Rights will consider the merits of repealing the Human Rights Act 1998;
- Answer

The Government will make a statement to Parliament on the terms of reference of the Commission on a Bill of Rights in due course. The Government have however made clear that any Bill of Rights must incorporate and build on all our obligations under the European convention on human rights and ensure that these rights continue to be enshrined in UK law.
