ContactPoint

Question
To ask the Secretary of State for Education From what (a) local and (b) national data sources information was collected for the ContactPoint database.
Answer

The basic information on ContactPoint was drawn from a number of national sources, including the General Register Office, the Department for Education's Schools Census, the child benefit database and the NHS Personal Demographics Service. In addition local authorities and national partners had begun to add information from a range of local sources, including social care systems.
