National Assembly for Wales

Question
To ask the hon. Member for South West Devon, representing the Speaker's Committee on the Electoral Commission if the Electoral Commission will publish its advice to the Wales Office on the form of the question to be put on the extension of powers of the National Assembly for Wales.
Answer

The commission informs me that it will make public its views in response to the consultation by the Secretary of State. The Secretary of State for Wales is also required to lay before Parliament a report stating any views that Electoral Commission has expressed on the intelligibility of the referendum question. A copy of the report must also be sent to the First Minister for laying before the National Assembly for Wales.
