Prescriptions: Fees and Charges

Question
To ask the Secretary of State for Health whether the Government plan to make changes to the criteria for eligibility for free prescriptions following the report from Professor Gilmore; and if he will make a statement.
Answer

Decisions on any future changes to the system of prescription charges and exemptions in England would need to be taken in the context of the next spending review, which is due to report in the autumn. In the meantime, there are no plans to make any changes to the current list of conditions which are exempt from prescription charges.
