Business question from Caroline Lucas (Green Party) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 16 September 2010. It occurred during Business statement on Business of the House.
Business of the House
The coalition agreement contains a clear commitment to bring forward"““measures to make the import or possession of illegally logged timber a criminal offence””" in the UK, yet I now have a letter from a UK Minister saying that the Government have no plans to bring forward ““further legislative action””. Will the Leader of the House agree to find time for a debate on the issue of illegally logged timber, particularly to explore why a coalition commitment on such an important issue lasted for less than three months?
