- To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what progress her Department is making on ending the storage of internet and email records without good reason.

[holding answer 25 October 2010]: The Government will legislate to ensure that the ability of the security intelligence and law enforcement agencies to obtain communications data is proportionate to the natural security and law enforcement needs of the country and is accompanied by appropriate civil liberties safeguards.
