Agriculture: Genetically Modified Crops

Question
To ask Her Majesty’s Government what assessments they have made of the health and environmental effects of roundup herbicide in the precise formulations currently used on genetically modified crops.
Answer

Genetically modified crops that are tolerant to the herbicide known as roundup are not being grown in the UK. All herbicides used in the UK are subject to a thorough assessment of health and environmental effects as set down in national and EU legislation.
