On 20 October, the Prime Minister, responding to my question, said that"““house building was lower in every year of the last Government than it was under the previous Conservative Government.””—[Official Report, 20 October 2010; Vol. 516, c. 946.]" That is simply not true. After checking with the Library, I wrote to the Prime Minister on 21 October, providing detailed statistical evidence to demonstrate the error, inviting him to put the record straight. The Leader of the House will be aware that the ministerial code of conduct, the most recent version of which was issued in May this year by the Prime Minister, says that"““it is of paramount importance that Ministers give accurate and truthful information to Parliament, correcting any inadvertent error at the earliest opportunity””." I regret to tell the House that the Prime Minister has failed to correct the error to date and, indeed, despite a reminder, has not even responded to my letter. Will the Leader of the House draw the Prime Minister's attention to this matter and remind him of his obligation to abide by the terms of his own code of conduct?
