Proceeding contribution from Lord Young of Cookham (Conservative) in the House of Commons on Thursday, 28 October 2010. It occurred during Business statement on Business of the House.
Business of the House
As I said in response to the right hon. Member for Leeds Central (Hilary Benn), our policies are seeking to achieve the objectives of Mr Purnell, a former colleague of his, in ensuring that those who are on housing benefit are confronted with the same choices on housing as those who are not in receipt of that benefit. There will be an opportunity to debate the housing changes. Some of them need primary legislation and some need secondary legislation, so the Government will provide time to debate them as the opportunity presents itself.
